Grrr!
Track-Dunk-man in my sophomore year of high school. With a mouthful of braces, I wasn’t about to be smiling for the camera. I only had them for about two years, but I never learned how to smile in photos until they came off.
For a long time, this was the only picture of me floating around in my family. My grandmother in South Africa kept this picture beside her telephone. She said that every time she uses the phone, she got to see me glaring back at her.
