… so we took one at the Chengdu airport, on our way to Hong Kong.

Emma dreams of going to UVa to study politics and is preternaturally poised & responsible — a natural leader.  On the day of the SAT, she practically made herself a member of the adult team when admission ticket problems cropped up for three different students: In the hotel lobby, Emma discovered that one student had brought a December ticket for the November test and sent her back upstairs to get the correct one.  Another student failed to bring a ticket at all, so Aki & I sent the kids on and raced to find Internet & a printer with the clock ticking down.  Meanwhile, while everyone else on the bus nervously studied during the drive, Emma instead talked to that panicked student and calmed her down.  Then, Emma arrived at her test center to realize that her own ticket was for a different location — so she calmly talked her way into the wrong center and took her test, no sweat.  All in a typical morning for Emma!
